Z-Communications has introduced a new RoHS-compliant C-band voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO). The SMV4350A-LF operates from 4345 to 4355MHz within a tuning voltage range of 1 to 4VDC. This low cost VCO features phase noise performance of -110dBc / Hz at 100kHz offset and covers the frequency range with an average sensitivity of 50MHz/V. The SMV4350A-LF is designed to deliver -0.5±2.5dBm of output power into a 50ohm load while operating over the industrial temperature range of -40C to 85C. This high performance VCO is further enhanced by saving precious energy. The device consumes 20mA of current while operating off a 5VDC supply. The SMV4350A-LF features a typical 2nd harmonic suppression of -25dBc and comes in Z-Comm's industry standard SUB-L package measuring 0.3 x 0.3 x 0.08 inch. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements. The SMV4350A-LF is also ideal for automated surface-mount assembly and reflow. The SMV4350A-LF is suitable for mobile applications that require exceptional phase noise performance without compromising a significant amount of space.
