TRUMPower has introduced the Intel Haswell compatible TMPC-550U, which is a medically approved 550W ATX PC power supply equipped with a built-in 24V battery charger. A single 24V or two 12V lead-acid batteries in series can be connected to the TMPC-550U to be used as an interruptible power source, with the backup power being 400W. The battery charger in conjunction with a built-in DC-DC converter ensures that all connected equipment will receive a stable supply of power with the correct corresponding voltage in case of a blackout or temporary power loss. The TMPC-550U comes with DC voltage outputs and maximum loads of +3.3V/20A, +5V/20A, triple +12V/16A, -12V/0.5A, and +5Vsb/3A for standby purposes. The maximum total output power is 550W, with the combined output of +3.3V and +5V limited to 120W. The total output power for +12V1, +12V2, +12V3 is 432W maximum. Measuring 140mm (L) x 150mm (W) x 86mm (H), the power supply comes with a standard output cable set, which includes the 24 pin ATX motherboard, PCI-E, 4-pin Molex, and SATA power connectors, etc.suitable for most PC-related applications. Alternatively, a custom cable set is available. The TMPC-550U is designed to meet the 3rd edition of IEC/EN 60601-1, ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1:2005, CSA C22.2 No. 60601-1: 2008 and IEC/EN 60601-1-2:2014 (4th edition) EMC standards. The power supply is also designed to conform to EN 55011/EN 55022, FCC and VCCI class B conducted and radiated emissions EMC standards. In addition, the power supply complies with RoHS requirements and MTBF of the unit at full load is higher than 100,000 hours at 25°C ambient, calculated per Telcordia SR-332. The unit comes with a earth leakage current of 300µA maximum at 264 VAC, 63 Hz. The power supply has a 90-264 VAC universal input with active PFC, which meets EN 61000-3-2 standards. Alternatively, it can operate at 24V DC input. The TMPC-550U also features a USB 2.0 interface for communication between the power supply and the back-up battery via a power management program running on the PC system. It has both a battery port connector and communication port connector. Additional key attributes include over-voltage and over-current protection on all outputs, low ripple and noise, and 0C to +70C operating temperature with no derating required below +50C, says the company.
