The Intel Edison development platform, available from Farnell element14, is designed to lower the barriers to entry for a range of inventors, entrepreneurs, and consumer product designers to rapidly prototype and produce IoT and wearable computing products.
The board supports Arduino Sketch, Linux, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and is compatible with Arduino Uno (four PWM instead of six PWM). There are 20 digital input/ output pins, including four pins as PWM outputs and six analogue inputs. The board includes micro USB device connector or (via mechanical switch) a USB Type A connector, plus micro USB device and SD card connector.
