Bourns has announced the availability of the Model PVG3A and PVG3G series of Murata trimmer products. The added trimmer products are available in both J-Hook and Gull-Wing pin styles. Sized at 3mm and RoHS compliant, the trimmer series features extended operating temperature operation (-55C to 125C), has a power rating of 0.25W at 70C and the rotational life is specified at 50 cycles. Ideal for harsh environments, the Models PVG3A and PVG3G are sealed and are designed to have high heat resistance performance for high temperature peak reflow soldering which helps protect the product during manufacturing processing. These features make the trimmer products well suited for small sensors, printers/copiers, optical transceiver modules and compact power supplies.
The company kept the original Murata part numbers to ease the conversion to Bourns-manufactured replacement products, and continues to manufacture and honor its standard warranty terms on replacement products based on Murata specifications.
Bourns invented the world’s first trimming potentiometer, trademarked Trimpot, which is still the industry standard used to perform accurate circuit adjustments in a wide range of electronic equipment. They continually makes physical configuration and ease-of-manufacturing advancements giving customers additional design flexibility in selecting the optimal trimmer for a particular application.
