AC/DC power supply series offers high efficiency in a small package

CUI’s Power Group has expanded its VOF AC/DC power supply family with the introduction of a compact 300W series. The VOF-300 series, available in open frame and metal enclosed packages, is a higher-power addition to their general purpose AC/DC power supply portfolio currently ranging from 6W to 280W. Offering an ideal combination of economy and performance, the single output power supply series delivers efficiencies up to 94% and no-load power consumption as low as 0.3W for energy-conscious ITE, industrial, and consumer electronics applications. The open frame VOF-300 and enclosed VOF-300-CNF series feature a wide universal input voltage range of 90VAC to 264VAC with output voltage options of 12VDC, 24VDC, 36VDC, and 48VDC. All models carry UL/cUL and TUV 60950-1 safety certifications while meeting EN 55032 Class B and FCC Class B limits for radiated emissions. The series has a minimum MTBF of 160,000 hours at 115VAC at 25C ambient, calculated per MIL-HDBK-217F. Protections for over current, over temperature, over voltage, and short circuit are included as well as power factor correction. The open frame version of the VOF-300 series measures 76.2mm x 127mm x 35.1mm and provides an operating temperature range at full load from -40C up to +50C with forced air cooling, derating to 60% load at +70C. Dimensions for the metal enclosed package measure slightly larger at 88mm x 136mm x 40.4mm, while carrying an operating temperature range at full load from -40C up to +60C with forced air cooling, derating to 60% load at +80C.
