Fully-automated manufactured DC-DC converters features low profile

12-04-2017 | Recom International | Power

RECOM’s new R1SX series have nearly 20% lower profile than the industry standard due to their unique inverted transformer design. These 1W DC/DC converters are suited for bus isolation and a wide range of industrial automation control equipment.   The series, an open-frame SMD converter, leverages on the fully automated manufacturing techniques to deliver stable performance and consistent high-quality at a very competitive price. The modules are available with 3.3V or 5V inputs, offer a single unregulated 3.3V or 5V output and can reach up to 78% efficiency. There is no minimum load required, and the quiescent consumption is less than 150mW. The converters can drive up to 2200µF of high capacitive load, which is 40 times higher than the competition. With up to 3kVDC (/H option) of isolation, it makes them an ideal solution for isolating data transfer lines in industrial communication protocols (e.g. CAN bus). The modules operate at a wide temperature range from -40C to +100C at full load and have industry standard pinouts, that are compatible with the R1S series, but at half of its height. Class A EMC compliance can be reached without external inductors, and Class B EMC compliance can be met with one additional inductor. The series is fully certified to IEC/UL/EN62368-1 and UL60950-1.
