Supercapacitor product comparison matrix now available for download

AVX Corporation has launched a supercapacitor product comparison matrix, which is now available for download. Supercapacitors or electric double-layer capacitors have rapidly become recognized, not only as an excellent compromise between "electronic" or "dielectric" capacitors such as ceramic, tantalum, film and aluminium electrolytic, and batteries, but also as a valuable technology for providing a unique combination of characteristics, particularly very high pulse power and capacitance densities. The company’s new SCC and SCM Series of cylindrical and module-type supercapacitors offer excellent pulse power handling characteristics based on the combination of very high capacitance and very low ESR. Used by themselves or in conjunction with primary or secondary batteries, they provide extended back up time, longer battery life, and provide instantaneous power pulses as needed. The supercapacitors offer great solutions to energy harvesting, pulse power applications, power hold-up, and battery replacement.
