Glass-encapsulated thermistors ideal for automotive and industrial applications

23-11-2017 | Ametherm | Passives

Ametherm’s DG series of glass-encapsulated thermistors are ideal for high-accuracy temperature sensing in automotive and industrial applications. The hermetically-sealed devices stop errors in resistance readings due to moisture penetration while offering high operating temperatures and a compact size. The company's new series provides designers with faster, more accurate, and less expensive choices to thermocouples and RTD probes. The devices are free from limitations due to solder temperature, enabling them to offer users a wide operating temperature range of -40C to +300C. With diameters of only 1.5mm, the devices offer a small size allowing for encapsulation in a variety of housings, such as ring lugs and hex nuts. The thermistors are available in four resistance values at 25C — 10kOhm, 40kOhm, 50kOhm, and 100kOhm — with resistance tolerances down to ±2%, a dissipation constant of >0.5mW/C, and thermal time constant of <6.5s.
