Expanded product line offers simple and reliable USB Type C connectors

CUI’s Interconnect Group has added USB Type C connectors to its USB product family. The UJ31 receptacle connector and UP31 plug connector series meet the USB 3.1 Gen 2 standard supporting data transfer speeds up to 10Gbps and power delivery up to 100W at 20V. With a reversible connector interface for easy and reliable mating, these USB Type C connectors offer developers with a compact, versatile option for a variety of I/O applications in consumer and portable electronic devices, including digital audio devices, high volume storage products, and mobile computing equipment. The series is available in horizontal and vertical orientations with cable mount, mid-mount SMT, and SMT mounting styles. All models support 5A current ratings for faster power charging, are reflow solder-compatible, and give high durability with up to 10,000 mating cycles. These connectors also carry operating temperature ranges up to -30C to +85C and complies with the UL94V-0 flammability rating.
