Harwin has continued to extend its interconnect solutions, and announces the latest addition to the M40 series. The series has phosphor bronze contacts rated for currents of up to 1A. These lightweight, low profile 1mm pitch units are the tiniest in the company’s cable-to-board connectors portfolio. They have been specifically developed for the requirements of modern designs, where densely populated PCBs are stacked closely together.
M40 connectors are offered in both single and double row options, with horizontal and vertical surface-mount configurations for the shrouded male headers. This means they are versatile sufficiently to serve a wide array of different layout requirements. Pre-cabled female contacts can be provided off-the-shelf, with complete cable assembly layouts on request, allowing customers to bypass making heavy investment in crimp tooling. As a result, these connectors are particularly attractive for prototyping, or small volume runs.
Supporting 50 mate/un-mate cycles, these components have an insulation resistance of 100MOhm and cover an operational temperature range of -25C to +85C. Located within an attractive price bracket, they are aimed at communications infrastructure, industrial control/monitoring, industrial drives and consumer electronics. They are available in either tube packaging or a tape-and-reel format, thus making them very well suited to automated production processes.
