Latest FPC entry-level spectrum analyser combines three key RF test instruments

Rohde and Schwarz has extended its R&S FPC spectrum analyzer family, adding the R&S FPC1500. This compact instrument merges a spectrum analyzer, a one-port vector network analyzer and a CW signal generator. It is ideal for education, for applications in service and repair shops and for professional hobbyists. It is the first spectrum analyzer on the market to integrate the three most commonly used instruments on an RF engineer's workbench in one budget-friendly instrument. The base model has a frequency range of 5kHz to 1GHz. Keycode choices unlock higher frequency ranges up to 3GHz or allow other measurement application features when needed. Upgrades are activated immediately when the keycodes are entered, and there is no need for upgrade calibration. Also, the device claims to provide the best measurement and display resolution in its class: 1Hz RBW and 10.1” (1366 x 768 pixels). It displays signals in razor-sharp detail.
