Low-profile common mode choke for CAN or CAN FD applications

05-11-2018 | Coilcraft Europe | Passives

Coilcraft’s new 1812 CAN Series common mode chokes give noise suppression on CAN (1Mbps) or CAN FD (5Mbps) data lines in automotive and industrial automation applications. The series can also be used for the FlexRay automotive bus system. Measuring just 4.95mm x 3.18mm x 3mm, the low-profile Series is offered with inductance values from 11µH to 100µH to filter a broad range of common mode noise frequencies with high attenuation. It offers up to 60% lower DCR than other CAN bus chokes, providing much lower losses on differential signal lines. The series is qualified to AEC-Q200 Grade 1 standards (-40C to +125C ambient), making it ideal for automotive and other harsh-environment applications. It is RoHS-compliant, silver-palladium-platinum-glass frit terminations and provides a maximum reflow temperature of 260C.
