Saelig Company now offers the compact ThinkRF D2030 RF Downconverter, engineered to work seamlessly with existing spectrum analysis equipment by down-converting RF signals from the 27-30GHz frequency bands down to an intermediate frequency (IF) of 3.55GHz or 5.6GHz. The downconverter works with existing test equipment, RF signal detectors, and interfaces, minimising user training demands, and allowing these products to offer 5G analysis capabilities.
Measuring 7.5'' x 8.5'' x 1'' and weighing less than 2lbs, the compact device is portable, versatile and easy to use for 5G analysis in any deployment scenario. The input power requirement of +12VDC at 6W enables it to be used with a vehicle power outlet, an external battery, or a standard wall-mount power supply.
This downconverter features 10MHz input and output clock references for multi-unit synchronization. As 5G mobile and wireless communication technologies push to draw on wider bandwidths and higher frequencies, users can run multiple units in parallel to detect, monitor, and analyse these signals at a lower cost and with no need to replace their current investment in RF signal detectors.
