Coilcraft introduces its new XGL4020 Series of high-performance, moulded power inductors. The series features what is claimed to be the industry’s lowest DC losses and remarkably low AC losses for a broad range of DC-DC converters (from hundreds kHz up to 5MHz+). Further performance improvements incorporate a broader range of inductance values and improved Irms current ratings.
The series is offered in 12 inductance values from 0.33µH to 8.2µH, with current ratings up to 15.2A and soft saturation characteristics. It provides the lowest DC resistance currently available in the market – up to 45% lower than the company's next lowest soft-saturation products. The lower DCR and higher Irms also enable the series to run much cooler than other components.
The series inductors are qualified to AEC-Q200 Grade 1 standards (-40C to +125C ambient) with a maximum part temperature of +165C and exhibit no thermal ageing issues, making them ideal for automotive and other harsh-environment applications. They feature RoHS-compliant, tin-silver-over-copper terminations and are halogen-free. Their composite construction also minimises audible buzzing.
