Economically priced series of DIN rail mount power supplies offers a narrow width

TDK Corporation has introduced a 48V 480W output model to their economically priced DRB series of 15W to 480W DIN rail mount power supplies. The device's narrow 84mm width offers extra space for other DIN rail modules or the usage of a smaller enclosure. Applications for the DRB480-48-1 comprise industrial process control, factory automation, semiconductor fabrication, communications and test and measurement equipment.

The device's rugged metal case is 124mm deep x 125mm height x 84mm width. The power supply runs from a wide range 90–264VAC input facilitating worldwide use. The device provides a 48V 10A output and highlights a DC OK relay contact as well as an LED indicator. The output can be adjusted from 48–52.8V to compensate for series blocking diodes or MOSFETs in redundant configurations.

Input to output isolation is 3000VAC, input to ground 1500VAC and output to ground is 500VAC. The device is convection cooled and rated for operation in -20C to +70C ambient temperatures (cold start at -40C), with linear derating above 50C to 62.5% load at 70C. High efficiency of up to 92% decreases internal heating of the electrolytic capacitors, giving a field life over ten years with 24 hours a day operation at 75% load, 230VAC input and 40C ambient.

The unit is certified to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60950-1, UL 508 and is CE marked for the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS2 Directives. It meets EN 55011-B, EN 55032-B, CISPR11-B, CISPR32-B and EN 61204-3 (Class A) radiated and conducted emissions. The DRB480 complies with EN 61000-3-2 (Class A) harmonic currents, the EN 61000-4 immunity standards and line interruptions to SEMI F47.
