Flex Power Modules now offers the BMR4615001/001, a new version of its BMR461 series of digital PoL regulators. The new module offers up to 15A/50W at an adjustable output voltage of 0.6-3.3V, which equalises to a 25% higher current and power delivery at 3.3V than the former 12A maximum for that voltage. The input voltage range of the device is 4.5V to 14V.

The higher output is in acknowledgement to customer demands, providing increased current and power in a compact 12.2mm x 12.2mm x 8mm (0.48" x 0.48" x 0.315") package of the series, and therefore saving PCB space due to higher power density. It is excellent for a variety of applications, including wireless and fixed telecoms infrastructure, datacoms uses such as network routers and data centres, and industrial applications including Industry 4.0 and process automation.

Olle Hellgren, director of Product Management and Business Development at Flex Power Modules, said: “Our customers are telling us they have increased current requirements, including for the I/O and core voltages for FPGAs, ASICs and processors, and they are also looking for higher power density. The new regulator meets these demands, and builds on the success of our familiar, reliable BMR461 series.”

The regulator is produced in accordance with the safety standards IEC/EN/UL 62368-1. Reliability is high, with an MTBF of 24 million hours.
