Hirose Electric has introduced the FH67 series of robust, flat flexible cable/ flat printed circuit connectors.
The new series can withstand higher operating temperatures than the standard FFC/FPC connectors. Withstanding temperature ranges of up to 125C, with this heat resistance capability the connector meets the demands of rigorous automotive requirements.
A unique one action lock enables an FFC/FPC to be inserted into the connector without opening the actuator. This can be achieved with one hand or by automated machinery to conserve valuable assembly time and decrease mating failure. Removing the connector is also simple and can be done by one hand or by robot.
The series is highly reliable with an independent two-point spring contact design, which incorporates a wiping element that decreases contact failure due to dust intrusion.
The ground contacts enable a shielded FFC to be employed which prevents EMI.
Typical applications are automotive equipment, smart home devices, medical equipment and other portable devices.
