New starter kit features three Bluetooth 5 sensors

Mouser now stocks the Sentrius IG60-BL654 and BT510 Starter Kit from Laird Connectivity, and includes the latest wireless IoT gateway solution in the company’s growing family of IoT devices, the kit reliably and securely connects Bluetooth-enabled sensors to the cloud, offering everything required to commence a wireless IoT proof-of-concept — with temperature sensing, proximity, vibration sensing, and door open/close reporting — in minutes.

The kit comprises the gateway with AWS, plus three BT510 Bluetooth 5 sensors. Engineers can collect data from the sensors and collect the data with the gateway before transferring it to the cloud via AWS IoT Greengrass, at the same time, available iOS and Android mobile apps enable fast, in-field provisioning.

Based on the company’s 60 Series SoM and BL654 embedded Bluetooth module with Nordic Semiconductor nRF52840 SoC, the kit offers a powerful platform for Bluetooth 5 long-range sensor-to-cloud applications. The combination of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enables customers to capture data from the sensors, add edge intelligence, and transmit that data to the cloud over high-performance 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

Apart from the kit, the gateway is also offered in two versions: the previously mentioned AWS IoT Greengrass version and the Laird Connectivity Linux version, which incorporates the company’s Linux build, hardware root of trust, and development tools. Both versions are globally certified to FCC, IC CE, MIC, UL, Bluetooth SIG, PTCRB, and GCF entities and end-device certified to AT&T and Vodafone.
