Touch screen sensor offers unique feature of dynamic resistance

The Arcol Ohmite FSR series touch screen sensor, available now from RS Components, works on the force-sensing principle. It provides the unique feature of dynamic resistance associated with the amount of applied force. It is targeted at applications where a delta in applied force is to be detected.

Typical force-sensing resistors are characterised for HMI or MMI applications with a sensing range from circa 20g to 5Kg. Particular device characteristics will depend on the size, shape and materials employed in construction. Force-sensing resistors are designed for applications where a delta in applied force is to be detected. They are not designed for high accuracy or specific weight measurement applications.

The devices offer long term drift, high humidity storage, with a durable lifecycle. The operating temperature -20C to +85C.
