Ethernet switch ideal for in-vehicle applications

The Brainbox SW series is a compact design, 5xRJ45 port Ethernet switch with 1000Mbps transmission speed. The series is available now from RS Components.

All Ethernet ports are Auto MDI/device MDIX supporting straight-through or crossover Ethernet cables. Power consumption is optimised based on the status of the link device. The +5V to +30V power input allows the device to be run from a standard car battery – ideal for in-vehicle applications. The series has a tough metal casing with a removable numbered power terminal for easy wiring. The integral DIN mount and slim design takes up minimal cabinet space.

No software needed for the series- simply plug in any Ethernet cable. The series offers automatic data transmission speed detection of 10Mbps or 100Mbps, or 1000Mbps. The power consumption is optimised based on the status of the link device. The series is IP30 rated with a temperature range covering -40C to +80C/-40F to +176F.
