The Apem IA series actuator comprises a polyurethane membrane which depresses when the switch is actuated. The membrane is press-fitted onto the bushing, giving an IP67 front of panel seal and assuring high resistance to frost and external contaminants. The devices are available now from TTI Europe.
The actuator material offers a soft feel and enables easy operation even with gloved hands. The low profile design provides easy actuation when the switches are matrix mounted.
The devices are low profile, and the pushbutton switches are ideal for harsh environments. They are resistant to frost, sand and hydrocarbons. Operating temperature covers -20C to +65C. The electrical life at full load is 1,000,000 cycles. The devices are available in various operator colours.
Some of the applications the devices are suitable for include radio remote control, front loaders, AGV, cranes, telehandlers, forklifts, mobile elevating work platforms, scissor lifts, boom lifts, tail lifts, belly boxes, construction machinery, excavators, road construction machinery, asphalt pavers, compactors, trucks, bulldozers, pile drivers, and snow ploughs.
