With the growth of social and industrial dependence on internet cable connectivity and superfast broadband, the growing number of cabinets on our streets has seen an increase in 'street culture', which sees these cabinets as naturally vulnerable parts of the public environment. This led to EMKA concentrating on vandal resistance for locking outdoor cabinets, which has become a significant issue. They have responded with a range of swing handles that resist vandal attack to level RC2 (DIN EN 1630) and other solutions, including electronic lock and release mechanisms that enable the door lock to be fully concealed within the cabinet.
For less exposed areas, this RC2 capability is complemented with an extensive range of swing handles which satisfy the requirement for slightly lower resistance levels, a situation where the swing handle design is intrinsically relevant to the task, by the way, the pop-out lever is recessed into the escutcheon body with naturally small clearances. This level comprises product solutions with double profile half-cylinders or with padlock facility – also in tough reinforced polyamide, high-quality zinc die or stainless steel.
