AC/DC power supplies for medical and industrial applications

Traco Power now offer its new TPP 180 and TPI 180 series of 180W high efficiency, miniaturised AC/DC power supplies for medical and industrial applications. These supplies measure just 2" x 3" x1.24” in the open frame version with global safety approvals for medical or industrial markets. Comprising of 16 standard models with single outputs of 12, 15, 18, 24, 36, 48 or 53V and open-frame or enclosed packaging. The small footprint and performance characteristics make these new products an appealing solution for a broad spectrum of needs.

The TPI 180 series is for industrial and TPP 180 for medical and industrial solutions. The open frame measures 2" x 3" x 1.24” and encased 2.44" x 3.6" x 1.75”. The devices offer efficiencies of 92-94% depending on selected model. They offer 180W at +50C forced air and up to 150W at +50C convection, with a 220W Peak Load operation of up to five seconds. The operating temperature range covers -40C to +85C. Reinforced I/O isolation is 3000VAC and leakage current <100μA rated for BF applications. The devices have approvals including IEC/EN/ES 60601-1 (2 x MOPP) and IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 (Class I & Class II), and EMC compliance according to IEC 60601-1-2 4th edition and EN55032 class B.

The TPP 180 family is 2xMOPP compliant, and BF rated for applied parts applications, providing patient and operator protection. Utilising high-quality components and high-efficiency topologies allows wide operating temperatures and high reliability at over 1.4 million hours MTBF (MIL-HDBK-217F, ground benign) and supported with a five-year product warranty.
