Automotive high power infrared LEDs offer high efficiency and beam control

Lumileds LUXEON Automotive High Power Infrared LEDs, available now from Mouser, are infrared emitters with engineered primary optics for high efficiency and beam control. The IR LEDs offer excellent thermal conductivity resulting in increased performance at actual operating conditions. They are designed for application requirements by offering various products at multiple infrared wavelengths and optical radiation patterns.

The LEDs are AEC-Q102 qualified and offered in an industry-standard footprint for ease of integration and upgrading existing system designs. They are available in 930nm and 950nm wavelengths to provide optimised performance for each type of application. It has radiant power of 1400mW (930nm) for a greater system performance. Six emission patterns address diverse application requirements, high punch, long-range, and high uniformity. The 3.7mm x 3.7mm package has a three pad configuration that is compatible with the industry-standard footprint to allow a direct upgrade in existing designs. The LEDs offer ultra-low Rth of 1.6C/W thermal conductivity solving thermal challenges and supporting space-saving designs.

Typical applications areas include driver monitoring systems, biometric identification, exterior sensing applications, and interior presence detection.
