Deutschmann Automation has extended its powerful UNIGATE IC2 series and presents the new embedded solution UNIGATE IC2 PROFINET. The ready-to-use UNIGATE IC2 PROFINET module provides reliable PROFINET connectivity and can be quickly and readily installed in a terminal device or sensor system. The integrated ARM Cortex-M4 processor technology provides fast communication.
With the embedded solution, data may be processed at high speed and swiftly be transferred to the customer's application. The UART interface accomplishes baud rates of up to 6MBaud. The SPI bus supports a transfer rate of 12Mbit/s in master operation and 10Mbit/s in slave operation. Also, the all-in-one bus nodes support MRP and the S2 system redundancy.
The protocol connection between the module and the terminal device is implemented via a proprietary script created in the script language developed by the company. For programming the script, it offers the Protocol Developer tool. With UNIGATE IC2, the script execution time can be decreased by a factor of 50 to 80 compared to predecessor models. The execution time of a script line is about 10µs. Simple scripts can be executed in just a few microseconds.
The company's compatible embedded series provides a wide range of fieldbus and Industrial Ethernet communication modules developed and manufactured in Germany. Furthermore, it supplies different fieldbus and Industrial Ethernet gateways and protocol converters for network-compatible systems. Implementation of the ready-to-use communication modules can significantly optimise design times and time-to-market of an end product.
