At this year's embedded world PEAK-System will present innovative I/O products with CAN FD connection.
The universal control unit PCAN-MicroMod FD ECU is created for the integration of customer-specific accessories in automotive applications. For this purpose, the device includes a CAN FD connection and a mix of analog and digital I/Os. The I/O processing and message transmission may be individually configured with a Windows program through the CAN bus. The robust housing with two automotive connectors enables the usage in commercial and heavy-duty vehicles under tough conditions. Also, the device can be switched to employ the communication standards SAE J1939 and J1939 FD, which are common in commercial vehicles. The company will shortly provide the required alternative J1939 firmware for all PCAN-MicroMod FD products free of charge.
Also, the company will display the new, programmable sensor module PCAN-GPS FD. Modern sensors including a satellite receiver, an acceleration sensor, a magnetic field sensor, and a gyroscope determine position and orientation. The incoming data may then be processed with the integrated microcontroller based on Arm Cortex-M4 and transmitted via CAN or CAN FD. With the assistance of the supplied development package, the behaviour of the sensor module can be programmed for particular applications.
