TDK Corporation has produced a series of inductors for Industrial SPE based on the IEEE 802.3cg standard for 10BASE-T1L. The suppression of asymmetrical interference is especially important to deliver interference-free data traffic. The new RCM70CGI-471 common-mode choke, which offers an inductance value of 470µH and is created for a maximum current of 700mA at a voltage of 80V, is fit for this purpose.
In particular applications, galvanic isolation between PHY and connector is needed. Isolation inductors of the ICI70CGI series solve this job with a transformation ratio of 1:1. They are provided in versions with inductance values of 1mH and 2.2mH. The isolation voltage is 2250VDC.
With PoDL, it is feasible to connect actuators and sensors with only one pair of wires and realise data and power transmission through this line. Special differential-mode chokes are needed to suppress interference in these systems. The new PID series are offered in various versions and cover all six power classes (10 to 15) according to IEEE 802.3cg. The spectrum of saturation currents goes from 360mA to 2100mA. Also new is the type PIS150H-471M, which is intended as a single choke for noise suppression and smoothing of currents. Its maximum saturation current is 2300mA.
The company is an SPE Industrial Partner Network member and the first supplier to provide all the inductors required to implement Industrial SPE with and without power transmission using PoDL. All listed types are RoHS compliant and developed for a temperature range from -40C to +125C.
