The latest generation of debuggers extends product range

08-04-2024 | TASKING | Test & Measurement

TASKING offers the hardware debuggers iC7pro and iC7max. Together with the iC7mini, which the company recently launched, the products form the latest generation of the proven BlueBox debuggers. They deliver faster response times and enhanced performance for software development and enable a smoother GUI and API experience.

The company's compiler toolchains – SmartCode for the Infineon TriCore AURIX TC4x family and the VX-Toolset for Arm v7.0 for the S32Z and S32E real-time processors from NXP Semiconductor, among others – allow connectivity to the hardware target via the hardware debuggers. SmartCode and the VX-Toolset for Arm now include an Eclipse plugin that provides powerful and versatile winIDEA IDE access. A compiler toolchain for RISC-V will soon be released, allowing connection to the hardware target through the new debuggers.

As with the iC7mini, the new and improved ECU interface of the new debuggers ensures that signal integrity is maintained even in the most challenging environments. Further improvements allow twice as fast continuous integration tests. The ability to work in a global development environment with remote debug farms has also been significantly improved. The three debuggers support all microcontrollers and SoCs commonly used in safety-critical automotive applications.

In addition to the features of the iC7mini, the iC7pro and iC7max add real-time trace capabilities. The iC7max can also be used for synchronous debugging and tracing on multiple SoCs and monitoring the network between them.

The iC7pro and iC7max can be ordered immediately. The will present all three products at embedded World from April 9 to 11 at booth 255 in hall 4. In particular, the iC7pro will be used in a demo that demonstrates the use of winIDEA for trace-based timing tests on real and virtual targets. A Vector Microsar will be used on a TC399XE target board and a Synopsys TC39x VDK Level-4 simulator (Synopsys Virtualizer).
