Connectors provide reliability for almost all areas

Rutronik now stocks the Micro-Fit 3.0 connector system from Molex. The components are embedded in compact, fully polarised housings with fully insulated contacts. They have a pitch of 3mm and are ideal for cable diameters from 18mm to 30mm. Their current carrying capacity is up to 10.5A. They have been developed for wire-to-wire, board-to-board and wire-to-board configurations for powering applications in all areas and have a wide range of options, such as contact position assurance (TPA), which means that the optimum connector solution is obtainable for every application. The components are cost-effective and available in SMT, press-fit, or surface mount versions.

Micro-Fit 3.0 Blind-Mate Interface (BMI): This variant has been specially created for blind mating or applications that are difficult to access, has a moulded self-aligning feature and enables a maximum misalignment of 2.54mm. The wire-to-wire and wire-to-board connectors are exceptionally robust and ideal for applications in harsh environments.

Micro-Fit TPA: These connectors prevent crushing contacts during cable connections due to improper assembly. Their TPS with integrated secondary fuse ensures the contacts remain in place and do not slip.

Micro-Fit 3.0 CPI connector: The compliant pin connector, whose special shape resembles the eye of a needle, allows a reliable connection. It is suitable for male and female micro-fit crimp contacts, providing the advantage of not needing further connectors. Making ongoing changes from solder to more cost-effective press-fit applications is also possible.

Micro-Fit 3.0 RMF terminals (Reduced Mating Force): This connector design needs less mating and unmating force, making the interface ergonomic and user-friendly. The RMF contacts allow switching to higher current levels, even during operation, providing a higher current carrying capacity of 10A for existing micro-fit components. The factory pre-lubricated version can be mated up to 250 times, making it the optimum option for applications with many mating cycles. It also has conductor cross-sections from 22 to 24 and 26 to 30AWG.

Typical applications include non-sealed applications, manufacturers of cable harnesses, washing machines and dryers, freezers, scanners and printers, refrigerators, security systems, routers and switches, servers, storage, patient monitors, diagnostic equipment, and solar energy.
