Bourns, Inc. has released a new powerful, ultra-compact GDT series. The products offered in the Bourns Model GDT21 Series are two-electrode devices created to provide maximum impulse voltage limiting in a space-saving surface mount package. The company specifically engineered this new series to satisfy the needs of space-constrained applications that now require more advanced protection against induced voltage transients, such as lightning and AC switching loads.
The series is offered in a compact EIA 1206 package and provides industry-leading surge protection capabilities that help ensure reliable performance in demanding environments. The series' advanced voltage limiting with quick response times minimises stress on downstream components during fast-rising transient events. Also, the series has a wide operating temperature range from -40C to +105C and a voltage range from 150V to 600V. The series provides very low capacitance for minimal insertion loss, making it excellent for maintaining signal integrity in communication systems and for industrial controls, set-top boxes, HVAC systems, antennae and many more designs.
"The launch of our Model GDT21 Series showcases Bourns' commitment to expanding our high-performance circuit protection offering in miniature form factors," said David ChavarrÃa, GDT/SPD product line manager at Bourns. "By collaborating closely with our customers, Bourns continues to respond to evolving application needs for superior surge handling, high reliability, and space-efficient solutions. I'm pleased to announce that our new Model GDT21 Series successfully meets these demanding requirements."
Bourns Model GDT21 Series is available now and is RoHS-compliant and UL-recognised.
