dToF sensor suited to home and industrial robotic applications

Mouser Electronics, Inc. now stocks the TMF8806 dToF Sensor from ams OSRAM.

The device is a dToF optical distance sensor module attaining up to 5000mm target detection distance. It can operate at ultra-low power consumption using ultra-low power mode. The module permits operation with I2C hosts with an extensive voltage range of 1.2V and 1.8V to 3.3V. The sensor features a single modular package with integrated VCSEL based on SPAD, TDC, and histogram technology.

Applications for the TMF8806 sensor include distance measurement for camera autofocus, battery-operated systems with extended runtime, presence detection, object detection, and collision avoidance.
