Insulated Wire Inc. offers its new short-form catalogue, providing information on its market range of products.
The company serves a wide range of both defence and commercial markets. These include telecommunications, data-links, satellite systems, airborne electronics defence and counter measures, missile systems, UAV applications, avionics and instrumentation, fire control systems, medical electronics and geophysical exploration.
The new brochure features the company’s expansive range of cables, including:
Low Loss/Phase Stable – with a range of line sizes delivering exceptional performance and phase stability for applications from sub-surface to space. Custom cable and cable assembly designs based on their unique laminated Teflon dielectrics up to 135GHz.
Re-Flex – the original double-shielded alternative to semi-rigid and conformable cables that perform to 62GHz. Available in industry-standard line sizes that support a wide range of interconnect options, with a range of standard length SMA/SMA assemblies and RE_FLEX Starter KITS.
Semi-rigid coax – The standard product features 50-Ohm cable, however the company’s advanced lamination technique provides the availability of custom impedance semi-rigid cables tailored to fulfil specific requirements. All semi-rigid cables with bare copper or plated finish can be shipped as coils or cut lengths. Standard RG line sizes are available, performing up to 60GHz.
Non-RF Products – The company’s original product range was data-cable for high temperatures in the oil and gas market. These products remain very popular, and they can also provide a range of wire types to 33 AWG, including hook-up wire, twisted pair/triple and custom composites using Teflon and copper-based designs.
Cable assemblies are available with extremely low loss and are optimised for operation in their respective frequency bands from low MHz to 110GHz. Custom assembly and a wide range of jacketing materials are available on request. These cable assemblies are available as finished assemblies, including partially or fully terminated and phase or time delay offset matched sets.
A broad range of interconnects and assemblies from a few cm to 30m are possible. Connector types include SMA, TNCA, and N Type, 3.5mm and 1.85mm straight, right angle, and male and female styles with bulkhead and flange mounting options available on some assemblies.
All connectors are created to meet the requirements of MIL-PRF 30012 with interfaces compliant with MIL-STD 348. For high-power applications, flanges are available for larger-diameter cables designed to ensure reliability in terms of power handling and heat transfer for continuous operation.
At millimetre wave, smaller diameter cables have been developed to be compatible with industry-standard connectors, including most push-on interface styles as well as high-frequency threaded types. The company can offer cable assemblies that provide performance up to 110GHz.
Microwave transmission lines are often exposed to a wide range of hostile environments. These may include extreme temperature, abrasion, comprehensive forces, high-pressure fluids, solvents, chemicals, salt water, UV, vibrations and mechanical stress.
In addition to internally ruggedised cables, the company has a wide range of materials and processes to protect its cable assemblies. These include a variety of metallic and non-metallic external sheaths to satisfy customer’s needs.
