Power management ICs offers an automotive application solution

Texas Instruments TPS650002-Q1 SVS Power Management ICs connect a single step-down converter with two low-dropout regulators, producing an automotive application solution. The 2.25MHz step-down converter begins a low-power mode at light load, allowing maximum efficiency over the most extensive range of load currents. The step-down converter enables the usage of a small inductor and capacitors to deliver a small solution size. A power-good status output can be utilised for sequencing.

The LDOs offer a 300mA output current and can run with an input voltage range from 1.6V to 6V. This enables the LDOs to be provided from the step-down converter. For sequencing and design flexibility, the step-down converter and the LDOs have separate voltage inputs and enables. The PMIC can be forced into fixed-frequency PWM utilising the MODE pin for low-noise applications.

The ICs are offered in a 16-pin leadless package (3mm x 3mm WQFN) and are AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.

Typical fields of application include automotive camera modules, automotive infotainment, automotive clusters, and automotive sensor fusion.
