Key Features of RGA IGBT Chip
ROHM's new chip comes with an impressive range of features. It offers improved controllability, is a must-have for drive applications, and boasts exceptional short-circuit robustness of 8 microseconds at high temperatures. This IGBT is available in 1200V class chip in various current ratings from 10A to 100A in MiniSKiiP as well as in SEMITOP modules.
The forward voltage of the RGA IGBT chip is notably lower than existing models, making chip paralleling a seamless process. This means that two chips can be paralleled without any complications. Furthermore, the chip offers lower thermal resistance, promising enhanced thermal performance. This quality allows for higher overload current in transient conditions, making the chip ideal for both drive and server applications.
Performance Evaluation
To evaluate the chip's performance in real-world conditions, ROHM Semiconductor has also developed an inverter stack. This stack facilitates actual operation, and rigorous testing is being conducted in ROHM labs.
