New highly accurate pressure sensor for harsh automotive applications

Melexis has a new highly accurate pressure sensor intended for harsh media applications, especially in the automotive sector. The new MLX90818 is a packaged absolute pressure sensor that is calibrated in the factory to cover the range 1.0 to 5.5 bar. This makes it ideal for normally aspirated, direct injection and turbocharged engine applications. The sensor also includes provision for an external NTC for temperature measurement and is housed in a small 4mm x 5mm DFN package. Laurent Otte, Pressure Sensors Product Line Manager, said: “The MLX90818 is a significant step forward in automotive pressure measurement.
